There is no CAT cut off for IIMA PGPX program. IIMA PGPX admissions process does not accept the CAT scores at all.

​

To apply for the IIMA PGPX, ensure you meet these eligibility criteria:

  • A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in any discipline i.e. fulfilling a minimum of 15 years of education.Minimum age of 25 years as on 31st March of the year in which the program starts. For the class entering in 2024, the candidate must have completed 25 years of age as of 31st march 2024.

  • A valid GMAT/GRE score (GMAT and GRE scores are valid for 5 years). Online GRE/GMAT Scores are not valid. 

  • IIMA PGPX code for submitting the official GMAT score : CQQ-RR-60

  • One year MBA from IIM Ahmedabad requires a minimum 4 years of full-time work experience after completion of graduation as on March 31, of the year in which the program starts.

PGP vs PGPX - Comparing the two programs by IIM Ahmedabad

IIM Ahmedabad offers two programs in the full time mode - PGP and the PGPX. The two programs are different in three main ways.

​

1. Eligibility: IIM Ahmedabad PGP accepts applications from freshers as well, whereas IIMA PGPX requires a minimum on 4 years work experience to apply.

2. Duration: IIM Ahmedabad PGP is a two year full time program where as the IIMA PGPX is a one year full time MBA.

3. Test Scores Acceptable: Admissions process for IIM Ahmedabad PGP requires the submission of the CAT score and the GMAT score is acceptable for this program only by NRIs. The IIMA PGPX on the other hand accepts the GMAT and the GRE scores both and not the CAT scores.

In terms of compensation, the top domestic offer soared to INR 1.15 crores per annum - a massive 87% jump over last year’s top package.

What academic profile is needed?

Let's start with grades - nearly 90% of admits have scored over 90% in Class 10. Competitive test scores in the CAT are crucial too. IIMA has sky-high cut-offs to meet. Excellent performance in high school, undergraduate studies or work experience helps too for a well-rounded application.

 

What CAT score weightage does IIMA give?

Well, your CAT scores do have a major sway during IIMA selection! After meeting the overall and sectional percentile cutoffs, those with stellar test scores can stand out from the pool. But academics, work profile and interview matter greatly too. You need the complete package for IIMA.

 

What if I have an engineering degree?

For those with degrees like Engineering, Tech or Architecture - called the AC-4 category - getting >85% scores in graduation would fetch the perfect 10 out of 10. So aim for the highest marks possible if you belong here!

 

A whopping 65% weightage to CAT scores, and 35% to both AWT and PI evaluation. They benchmark you on different aspects in these rounds.
